Is there a charge to use RideHawk?
There is no charge to use the RideHawk application itself. You only pay for the mileage cost of the trip. This mileage cost is the per kilometre rate for personal vehicle use as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency
Is my information private?
Yes. Rest assured that all of your data is secured and stored in a high security datacentre. For monitoring purposes aggregate data will only be used to evaluate and assess the ridematching system. No information is shared, sold or used by agencies who are not involved in the delivery of the rideshare services.

RideHawk was developed to help people access needed social, community or personal services due to lack of transportation options.

How do I register with RideHawk?
Registering with RideHawk is fast, easy, and simple. Follow these easy steps:
- Click on 'Register as a new user.’
- Enter your email address and select a personal password. NOTE: By entering your email address, we are able to contact you about your ride bookings.
- Enter your phone contact details and picture. Providing your cell phone number will let us send you text messages about your upcoming ride. Including a picture will help the driver identify you for pickup.
That’s it, now you’re ready to find a ride!
How do I Find a Ride?
To find a ride, tell us where you want to go
- Enter your pickup and dropoff address
- Click FIND RIDES
- A list of available drivers will be provided.
What’s the difference between Book Now and Request Ride?
- Book Now drivers have confirmed that they are available for the time/date you wish to book. Clicking Book Now will instantly confirm your trip.
- Request Ride drivers are typically volunteer drivers that have indicated that they want to review a Trip Request before confirming. It is important to note that if you select Request Ride, the trip is NOT confirmed until you receive a confirmation from the driver.
How do I select a Driver?
Using Book Now:
A list of available drivers will be shown in a scrollable list. Select the driver you wish to book. Your trip is now booked.
Using Request Ride:
Select the driver you wish to contact to request a ride. YOUR RIDE IS NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE CONFIRMATION FROM THE DRIVER. The driver will send you an email to confirm your ride request. The trip is then booked.
Payments:
How do in-app payments work?
You will be asked to pay for the ride you are booking, at the cost shown, if there is a cost. Payment will be taken from your credit card at the time of booking. Payments are refunded if the trip is cancelled 24 hours prior to the trip.
Is my payment information private and secure?
Payments are processed through Stripe and PayPal which facilitate secure and private transactions between users. Payment information is never accessed or stored by [platform provider].
What are the accepted payment methods?
Only credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard) are accepted on the app. The service uses a virtual wallet, so no cash exchanges are expected between drivers and passengers.
I have an invoice in the name of Rideshark.com that appears on my credit card, is this normal?
The technology provider behind the application is RideShark Corporation Inc. The company is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and its merchant category is IT. If the amounts match those you paid through the app, there's a good chance they're the same transactions.
